Big Farmer’s Cay Sand bar

Big Farmer’s Cay Sand bar

Located just south of Big Farmer’s Cay, this stretch of pure white sand emerges from blue-green water at low tide. It is widely known as the “Mile-long Sandbar” and is perfect for shelling, sunbathing, and picnicking. You will have it all to yourself on most days! There are several elevated areas on the island that provide stunning views of several dazzling calm beaches. Ramona Bay on Big Farmer’s Cay provides an entrance to one of the few navigable deep-water channels along the northern Exuma Chain, where some of the best sailing and fishing in the Bahamas can be found. Accessible only by boat, it is a five-minute ride from the more populated and active Little Farmer’s Cay, where there is one airstrip, two small marinas and a supply store.
